The Saint George Church Preservation Society in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has not challenged the division of the parish, but the group has appealed to the Vatican to keep the building open as a church. Earlier this month, society members watched and took photos as workers removed ornate woodwork from the church’s sacristy.
