About the Event
St Adalbert is not closed. Enjoy its remarkable marble work, award winning windows and learn about its architecture, inspired by Rome’s “St Paul Outside the Walls”. We will also join Benedictine Monks as a portion of the traditional “daily office” is prayed in Gregorian chant, in an acoustically resonant church originally built by a resolute German community. A special Mass will be prayed at another church with a strong Byzantine influence modified by Roman use. It contains unique paintings restored by the Art Institute of Chicago. Bring your lunch to enjoy in fellowship at Oblate Hall. The Benedictines will have their gift shop open for a short time.
Tickets must be purchased in advance through Holy Cross Office: 630-879-4750
Coach Transportation is from Holy Cross, 2300 Main St, Batavia, IL 60510. Please let us know if you intend to join the bus in Chicago.
