About the Event
Catholic Church Tour Field Trip guides incorporate the historical underpinnings of local neighborhood communities, artistic methods of signs and symbols, architectural instruction and time for individual exploration. Unlike simulated or virtual reality, our guided field trips bring the physical and spiritual aspects of the transcendent into a cohesive communal experience.
Today’s tour will keep us moving as we explore four of the most noble places of worship. We will take in St Hedwig, the Hidden Gem of Bucktown. Your guide will also bring you through a Holy Trinity Polish Mission, founded in 1872 and known for its exquisitely painted ceilings, brightly gilded pilasters and crypt reliquaries. Two other north-side churches, St John Cantius, and St Stanislaw Kostka, aka the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, have long history, notable beauty. All are popular because they retain undeniable grace and majesty.
