About the Event
This unique night is an annual pilgrimage event that occurs in thousands of cities throughout the world. Though Catholic Church Tours has been actively guiding or providing route information for 15 years, the tradition of visiting seven churches on Holy Thursday originated in Rome in the 1500s, initiated by St Philip Neri. On this night, within each church, is an area that has a beautifully adorned "altar of repose" where the Blessed Sacrament is exposed to help visitors meditate in preparation for Easter. * Though on this holy night visitors are engaged in silent worship, it is also a night of community, cultural traditions and the opportunity to be inspired by remarkable sacred spaces. Feel free to stay as long as the doors are open. Silence inside the churches is the norm. Photographs are not prohibited.
