About the Event

Learn about Aurora, IL,"the City of Lights", as we highlight three beautiful churches near/on "Pigeon Hill". Included will be a Romanian Greek Catholic Church with Transylvanian origins, icons, and ancient ritual (as well as famous Romanian sausage, which will be for sale), St Mary's, with it's meditative Zettler windows, and Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin,  a small stone frontier gothic formerly known as the Big Woods Church. Be present when the Easter Angelus, the Regina Caeli bells ring signaling the original Annunciation.   Please click the read more > below this paragraph to understand our ticketing and for further details.

Because sacred spaces are not market places, all are welcome to come without cost. Our growing collaboration with organizations and volunteers in several states, ongoing research, preparation and promotion requires funding, so thank you for taking that into consideration!

Meet at: St Michael's Romanian Catholic Church

Lunch: Behind Annunciation is a lovely grassy cemetery  with great history, trees and grottos where people may elect to picnic -  though your guide will also have ideas for you about famous local eateries.

Fun Fact: The Romanian Catholic Church in Aurora is under the jurisdiction of the Eparchy of Canton, OH

Participants must register in advance. Transportation is not included with this tour. Free parking.
