About the Event

This unique night tour is an annual  pilgrimage event that occurs in thousands of cities throughout the world. The tradition originated in Rome in the 1500s, initiated by St Philip Neri. People travel to seven churches that are open to everyone and have "altars of repose" in locations where visitors to take a moment to reflect. *

Though most visitors this night will be in silent worship, it is also a night of community and opportunity to explore some remarkable spaces on a carefully chosen route. Our guides will provide hisorical context and information about the churches as well as references to common prayers. We will visit St Stanislaw Kostka, St Hedwig, St Hyacinth, St John Cantius, St Mary of the Angels, St John Berchman, Holy Trinity Polish Mission and Catecombs.

Register (donations appreciated) below to recieve information on where to meet, the order of churches etc.

No Transportation is provided for this event. Invite a friend to drive you if need be!

* Most of these Altars of Repose are beautifully bedecked areas - within already beautiful churches - focus on the "first station" of the seven, the Garden of Gethsemane, and are appointed with flowers, candelight and garden images to assist one's meditation. However, other churches strikingly feature one of the other seven stations: Jesus taken before Annas, Caiaphas, Pilate, Herod, Pilate again and finally Jesus given the crown of thorns and led to his crucifixion.
