Ride from Bourbonnais or meet in Lemont

About the Event

Follow the route of Fr. Jacque Marquette and Louis Joliet! Join the Bourbonnais Township Park District to visit a little stone church, one of the oldest active churches in IL. Enjoy a presentation at a pioneer cemetery with head stones dated back to the days of George Washington. Learn more about the influence of the I&M Canal and railway on early and current structures and commerce when Lemont was known as Athens. We will lunch locally at the Old Town Restaurant and enjoy a small, well appointed museum that connects the fur traders, pioneers, voyagers and natives within the context of our Early American theme.

We will visit St Cyril and Methodius, Isle a la Cashe Museum, St. James at Sag Bridge and it's cemetery.

Transportation from Bourbonnais Township Park District Recreation Station: 770 E Franklin St, Bradley IL 60915
