About the Event
It is so much about about the height, the windows and the way sound travels! ~ Gothic soars and brings the spirit with it.
Join us on a journey through three of the most splendid Gothic Churches in Chicago. Their beauty and structure reflect the reach of the saint for which they are named. Your guide will provide fascinating details about each church, its architecture and its patron. Old St Michael, St Alphonsus and St Joseph have all made it through the devastation of fires and endured through generations of change. One is small and two are of a grand scale – each is noble. Though they fall within the form of ‘Gothic’, the hand carved wood and marble and churches with their lit-glass are masterpieces unique unto themselves.
